Leadership Council
Leadership Councils are an opportunity for any Illinois DECA member to network with DECA members statewide.

Our third council meeting, a DECA-themed Kahoot, will be held on January 20th at 7:00 pm. This fun and interactive meeting will quiz members on the history of DECA while preparing them with cluster exam questions. The top three winners will have an opportunity to receive a gift card of their choosing. To attend this meeting, please register prior to 6:00 pm on January 19th.
New this year, ILDECA is providing Leadership Academy Recognition. To qualify for this award, you must attend three of the four councils before ILCDC. All recipients will receive an additional ribbon to wear at the state competition.
Competitive Events
As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA’s flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school.
