DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
Christina Ba is a senior at Naperville Central High School who’s super excited to be a part of your Illinois DECA State Action Team this year!
DECA has given Christina the confidence to transition from someone who could never imagine giving a speech to a leader in both her chapter and now Illinois DECA. It has brought her so many connections all across the state and encouraged her to build presentational skills in and out of the club. Christina’s goal is to make DECA inspire and impact students across Illinois the same way it did to her.
At Naperville Central, Christina serves as Internal Vice President. Last year, she was a content creator on ILDECA’s Social Media Team and created graphics to post on the state Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat accounts. She was also her school’s VP of marketing.
This year, Christina is looking forward to shifting her chapter activities, as well as State, back in-person after a year of virtual events.
Outside of DECA, Christina spends her time cloning plasmids at UIC’s Molecular Biology research building, volunteering at the Edwards-Elmhurst Hospital, or shadowing a doctor of internal medicine. She’s also been involved in track & field since her freshman year and is a senior class council member. Christina also hosts art tutoring for young children. In her free time, she loves oil painting, reading trashy rom-coms, hanging out with her friends and family, and taking naps.
Christina can’t wait to work with the State Action Team to maximize ILDECA’s momentum together this year.
