Anthony Crawley is currently a senior at Plainfield East High School. He has been a member of DECA since his freshman year. Throughout his career within DECA he has competed at the Illinois state conference all three years and has competed at the international career development conference two times including 2016 and 2017. In his local chapter, Anthony has served as the Vice President of Communications for the past two years.

Outside of DECA, Anthony is involved within multiple philanthropic organizations in his school. For instance, he is a member of his school’s National Honor Society and in 2015 as a sophomore helped to found an organization called Global Citizenship Club (GCC). For two years, Anthony served as the Vice President of Advertising and Recruitment. In GCC Anthony has helped local charities and volunteered to make his community a better place and globally has helped to raise over $800 dollars annually which gives four families or 16 people in underdeveloped countries water for a full year. Anthony is also a member of his school’s Spanish Honors Society to promote the appreciation and respect for learning Spanish and Portuguese. Lastly, Anthony participates in his school’s Math Team and Science Olympiad.

Outside of school during his free time, Anthony enjoys playing basketball and ultimate frisbee with his friends. Formula one racing is Anthony’s favorite sport to watch on Sundays and one day he hopes to meet his idol Lewis Hamilton. Anthony also loves to watch baseball with his dad and often goes to Wrigley field to watch the Cubs play. At home, Anthony enjoys artistic activities like painting and building model cars and planes with his dad.

In the future, Anthony hopes to go to the University of California – Berkeley to study engineering and business. After he aspires to start his own social media marketing company to continue to use the skills he has learned in DECA.

This year Anthony is excited to have the privilege of being your Illinois DECA Vice President and he is ready to make this year limitless with every one of you.
